This 3-night inclusive package is perfect for those wanting to experience the region without the stress of planning, including return transfers from your front door within the Sydney & NSW North & South Coast regions. Enjoy 3 nights of relaxation, wine tasting and delicious food when you stay at the truly unique Segenhoe Inn. Built in 1837, the historic Segenhoe Inn has been operating for over 180 years. It is believed to be the oldest colonial accommodation in Australia. Come and experience a piece of history for yourself.

Day 1: Your escape to the Upper Hunter Valley country begins as your chauffer picks you up from your front door. As you enjoy the view of the drive to the Upper Hunter Valley you’ll start to smell the fresh country air and take in the vast beauty of the rolling hills and heritage buildings. We will make toilet and food stops along the way. Journey will roughly take 3-4 hours.
Arrive at the Historic Segenhoe Inn for your 2pm check in and be warmly greeted by your hosts Vicki and Pete Collins. On arrival you will be presented with your ‘The Hunter in a Basket’ hamper. You will then be guided around the Inn by your hosts as you step back in time at Australia’s oldest colonial accommodation.
Enjoy a quiet moment in your room before returning downstairs for your cosy welcome dinner by the open fireplace in winter or under the stars in the beautiful English gardens during summer.
Day 2: Tuck into your hearty breakfast before you head to the Segenhoe Horse Stud. The Upper Hunter Region is the horse capital of Australia – you will learn all about this and more in your exclusive tour. You will then have lunch at the iconic Thoroughbred Hotel in Scone. In the afternoon you will have free time to explore the Inn and its grounds or join Vicki for a 1-hour leisurely walk along the Hunter River.
This evening’s sunset BBQ dinner is a true Australian country experience. You’ll enjoy your delicious meal while listening to a 2-man bush band sing the songs of the good old days and re-count the stories of Ned Kelly and local ranger Captain Thunderbolt.
Day 3: Today is a big day, so make sure you fuel up with a home-cooked breakfast. You will be chauffeured around to sample the best wineries of the Upper Hunter Valley region. Your tour will start for a stop into Hunter Belle Cheese Factory, followed by wine tasting at Small Forrest Winery paired with delicious, locally produced morning tea. Your second wine tasting will be at Two Rivers Winery paired with a gourmet local cheese platter. You will then take in the views of the stunning mountains and vineyards at the Majestic Winery look-out, before you head to your final wine tasting at Hollydeen Winery paired with High Tea, personalised tasting in the barrel room and tea or coffee.
Tonight, we keeping the meal simple as you will be satisfied from the food during the day’s adventures!
Day 4: After your final breakfast you will sadly bid farewell to the Segenhoe Inn and the Upper Hunter Valley, as you are chauffeured home.

You’ll take off from Scone airport, glide above Scone seeing all the horse studs from above, the racecourse, mountains, valleys. You’re going to fly over Aberdeen, Glen bawn Dam to view how enormous and spectacular this lake is. Then past the mines around Muswellbrook, these are really a sight to see as you fly steadily past the cut-out earth.
We can even change route depending on where you would like to fly over. Discussed before take-off. 20 minutes in the air feels like forever……. Your heart will be pumping……… Your adrenaline flowing…………… This is a unique experience offered in the Upper Hunter Valley
